"I wouldn't have expected that from Labour." It's been a familiar doorstep refrain.

We know we must urgently re-engage people who granted us power. But blunders and scandals have overshadowed many excellent initiatives.

The NPF should play a part in rebuilding trust. But it doesn't feel like it reflects the skills and passions of Party members. Sometimes, frankly, it's seemed like a rubber stamp.

I've served the Party at Branch, CLP, Council and Parliamentary level. I currently chair my Branch and CLP.

I've always striven to offer a challenging, constructive and comradely voice (though those in power might disagree).

My passions are tackling social, economic and environmental inequalities, using my experience of health promotion, social care, the NHS, council housing and green issues. Where I lack knowledge I seek it from comrades.

As a Yorkshire Council estate kid, I owe a debt to Labour and trade union achievements that transformed the lives of my family and millions like us.

Nostalgia aside, I'd cherish the chance to channel your views and those Labour values into developing relevant and coherent policies - ones that unite us, build on our positive achievements and cut through the self-inflicted damage.
